What this check cannot tell you
- A listing price is an asking price. It is the start of a negotiation, not the end of one.
- Two quotes with the same product name can be different products: pump brand, bowl grade, motor life, certification, packaging.
- Freight, duty, defects and returns are not in the unit price. A quote that is cheap here can still lose money on arrival.
What the check does tell you is whether the number you were given is normal, high, or worth a second conversation — before you wire a deposit.
