Five comparisons. Each one states what the other system is read from, what this site is read from, and which of the two you will find here. Words like birth chart and tarot are big words; they belong in a comparison, not in a page pretending to be them.

Chinese astrology vs Western astrology

Both take a birth moment and write from it, and they take different things out of it. Western astrology reads where the planets stood along the zodiac; Chinese astrology builds a chart of twelve palaces out of the year, month, day and hour.

Chinese zodiac vs Western zodiac

Both run on twelve, and that is where the resemblance ends. The Western zodiac divides the sky into twelve signs by month; the Chinese zodiac counts twelve years, one animal to a year.

Zi Wei Dou Shu vs BaZi

BaZi (八字, the four pillars) and Zi Wei Dou Shu (紫微斗数) both start from the birth moment. One reads four pairs of characters; the other builds a chart of twelve palaces with stars in them.

Chinese astrology vs tarot

Tarot works from a shuffled deck and the cards drawn; Chinese astrology works from a chart cast at the birth moment, and that chart reads the same on any day.

Birth chart vs Chinese birth chart

A birth chart usually means the Western natal chart: the Sun, the Moon and the planets placed against the zodiac, drawn as a wheel. The Chinese chart cast from the same moment arranges twelve palaces and the stars that fall in them.

Questions

Why compare at all?

Because the words are close and the methods are not. Someone searching for a birth chart, a horoscope or a tarot reading lands here by accident; one page that says what each method actually reads from saves both sides the time.

Which of these does this site do?

The Chinese side: the twelve-palace chart cast from your birth data, and readings written and signed from it. Everything on the other side of each comparison — planets, horoscopes by date, the four pillars, the tarot deck — belongs to its own practitioners.

Do the comparisons cost anything?

No — the pages are reference. The paid work is the reading: three tiers, listed with prices and delivery times.
